A short note on how we cost our Motorcycle Tours.

The French rules on how you go about trading in France to act as a Motorcycle Tour Operator are very strict. We are not allowed a large profit from Tour Operations without becoming a legal french Motorcycle Tour Operator. This is an incredibly convoluted process - and also means you need to post a bond of 100,000 euros. So we sat back and scratched our heads and worked out how to offer Motorcycle Tours without making a large profit as a Tour Operator.

The answer was surpisingly simple - and we believe we can consequently offer the best value Motorcycle Tours available - anywhere! We are perfectly entitled to -

a) Rent Motorcycles

b) Book Hotels on your behalf, providing you pay for them.

So all of our Motorcycle Tours are costed on the following basis-

1) You rent a motorcycle for Bill. We assume there will be 3 people (Trans European Tour excepted) on each of our motorcycle tours assumes that 3 Motorcycle Hirers will bear the cost. If we get more we reduce the price - if we get less than we lose revenue.

2) We reserve all the Hotels on the Motorcycle Tour on your behalf. Bill's Hotel and Meal is split equally between the Group (Maximum 33% as with the Motorcycle Hire). On some tours - such as the Mirande Country and Western - Bill rides home at night - saving the group all of these expenses.

3) A reserve for petrol is taken when you pay for your motorcycle tour - we calculate 8 euros per 100KM. If this is a little overcooked - Bill buys a round or two on the last night.

4) Our pricing is estimated taking all of the above into account. Hence the maximum pricing on each tour. An added bonus is there is no additional milage charge on any of our motorcycle tours .

5) We recommend that you have full medical and travel insurance for your trip. That way we all get to relax and have fun!

So there it is: Motorcycle Touring at bargain basement prices. The price for the tour includes Motorcycle Rental, Hotels for one person - not sharing. If you bring a pillion then the accommodation portion will rise, obviously.

The upside of this arrangement is that you save an enourmous amount on overheads charged by other Tour Operators (the ones who operate legitimately that is). Please understand that this is the only way we can operate legitimatey - and if you are concerned about this - then you should ask similar questions on liability insurance from any tour operator you do business with. The downside is that we ask you to sign a disclaimer on the Touring part of your Holiday. The rental of Motorcycles is covered by some very strict laws so there is no question about our liability as far as the Bike goes. Our terms and conditions are explained in the Motorcycle Rental section.

That's the nasty bit out of the way. Now we can reveal that we take your safety very seriously indeed. We ride to a set of rules that will be explained to the Group on the first day - and at a speed comfortable to the group as a whole. Anyone who jeopardises the safety of another member of the group, or their own safety, will be offered to ride alone - or in cases of serious irresponsibility wind up walking home. We understand that you're here to have fun - but we want you home safe and sound and boasting to your friends about the fun you've had. That's it - if you have any questions or concerns about what you have read please e-mail me.
